Town Elections Tuesday March 10th, 11AM to 7PM at Town Hall. Absentee Ballots available now from Town Clerk and must be returned by March 9th. Town Meeting to be held Saturday March 14th, 10AM until over (usually noon) at Town Hall.


Dorchester Select Board meets on Thursday March 5th & 19th at 6:30pm at Town Hall.

All members of the public are reminded that Select Board meetings are open and the public is welcome to observe. However, public input is limited to specific times set aside by Chairperson. People are asked to wait for recognition from Chair before speaking out. The Board reserves the right to call for Executive Session when dealing with personnel issues and other issues allowed under NH law. Please bring questions and concerns regarding Town to this meeting.

Events Of Local Interest Mascoma Community Health Center’s dental program is growing fast and seeking professionals to join our all-star team. Mascoma Film Society Mascoma Film Society is a student/faculty/community-run club. MASCOMA FILM SOCIETY presents films each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm in the Mascoma Valley Regional High School community auditorium. The screenings are free (donations gratefully accepted) and snacks are donated by Jake's in Canaan. Canaan Town Library presents: Pub Trivia! Join other trivia fans once a week to test your knowledge of random facts! Topics will include, but are not limited to: history, geography, literature, science, and contemporary culture, with a few creative topics thrown in. Come with a team of 4, or as an individual. Winter Wildlife Prowl: A Guided Investigation of the Ecology, Behavior and Identification of Quincy Bog Wildlife in Winter. 9:00 to 11:30 am.

Led by UNH Extension Professor Dr. Matt Tarr, this will be entirely outdoors – a guided walk/snowshoe through a portion of the property to look at the different habitats during winter, identify the wildlife species that are active in these habitats during winter, and discuss the strategies that wildlife in each habitat use for surviving winter. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather conditions of the day. Binoculars are recommended. In case of an active snowstorm or extreme cold, the walk may be rescheduled to March 14.

The Canaan Farmers & Artisans' Market is accepting vendor applications for the 2020 Summer Market. Our outdoor Summer Market operates on Sundays from 10 am - 2 pm, May 24th - October 4th this year.
